To preserve, therefore, that health by natu iral moano is a gr.nd, moral and pdlitical schemo to fulfil which, requires ou utmost attention The unprecedented popularity and universal ap approbatihn which this medicine has achievedl throughout tile United States, the Canadas, Texas, Mexico, and the West lldies, fully justify DIr. Peters' in warmly and coneslentiously recoonlen. dine them to the special Hotice of the afflicted. Peters' Vegetable Pi li are taie safist, mnlet effeec tual and economical remedy for diseases of the human constltuteon, that hes ever been discovered. Dr. Peter, tile inventor of this invlluable miedi. cine, fromt his knowledge of the Iauman system, derived from a long and extensive practice, has i arrived to t is conelusion, that the great and pri. mary causes of most diseases is a derangement in the functions of tie liver, or in other words all in. creased or diminished secretion of the bile. So well is this understood, that it is cnmmon for persons to say when they feel unwell, that they are hilious, meancintg that they liave too much bile on the stomach. On thile other hand, when the flow of bile is diminislhed, the process of dices ion is imperfectly perform d, tile patient bee tnes weak and emaciated, because nourihmnent contained in the food taken into the stmach is not properly ex. tracted, and the food is ejectled in a crude state. Dr. Peters is confident that the famious Hygean Theory, so called, that, " impurity of the blood is the cause of all diseases," is a great absurdity. Every one who reflects on the subject a momenert, will perceivethat impurity ofthe blood is a secon. davy not a primary complaint--thoe efect and not I the caose of discase. When the funtions of the i liver are deranged, and the flow of bile increased, it is often taken up by the absorioent vessels and carried ilto ithe circulation, and becomes ming'ed wi h tile blood, as in jaundice, when the patient shows it in his countenance. Now this impurity oe blood is caused by an increased flow of hdle, and to remedy it, you must correct tie secretions of the liver, and restore it to a healthy state. Dr. Peters has spent much time in experiment ing with dllferrent vegetab e medicines, for diseases of thie liver; and now offers his Vegetable Pills, as the best, most convenient, and cheapest maedi. ,cine that can be prepared for general use. Dr. Peters flatters ihimselfthat his long experi imenting with vegetable medicines has enabled him to discover the true and only substitute answering nil the purposes of mercuria 8 without any of their attenldant evils. One great quality ofhtis vegetable Spills is that they have tie alterative principle com. bined with their cathartic, or operative qualities, so that they not only cleanso the stomach and bowels by purging, but they regulate the iheer, clhange thle morbid secretions, stren-ntheins the diaretive organs, purify the blood, invigorate the eirculation, and give tone and energy to the ner.. vous system. vous system. re S They ata mild and pleasant in their operation, in and c nvey almost innmediate conviction of their do. utility from the first dlose.
